Custom painting / airbrushing cars, pick-ups, rigs, motorcycles and more in Piqua, OH

Hi, I am Jim Shively and I started airbrushing in 1997, doing a very small job for a friend.  After doing several helmets for practice I had, through an odd chain of events, a brand new Western Star with a 120" sleeper in a shop to be custom painted.  Talk about trial by fire.... since then I have received 4 awards from Dupont for my paint work.  One in 2002 for grand prize in their "Top Gun" calendar and three others for first prize in their new "Hot Hues" calendar.

The Grand prize award winner was a 2001 Peterbilt owned by Donnie and Diane Harper.  The paint work included three layer "old school" flames with wildcats within, accompanied by 9/11 related mural work on the hood and sides.  This truck had the honor of carrying one of the crushed fire trucks from New York to California for a memorial to those lost that day.

Another is a 2003 International that has mural work depicting the owners grand children playing in snow.  Through the hard work of owners Harvey & Karen Zander it has compiled numerous awards including multiple best of shows and still wins best paint awards 5 years running.

Jim Painting

My work has accumulated many top awards for my customers at shows throughout the nation.  I have been in many different publications from RoadStar Magazine, Truckers News, and Truckin'.  The latest was in the July 2007 issue of RoadStar magazine where myself along with Rino Templeton (Trick My Truck), were two of three painters featured as top of their game in the trucking industry.  I work with several body fabricators that have a combined 45 years of experience. I have a great family behind me including my "boss", Mel and my paint critic, Mikey.  They keep me grounded and moving in the right direction along with the many amazing customers I have had the pleasure of doing work for...
